Digestive Health

We can arrange tests and screenings for Coeliac disease, Lactose Intolerance, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

What's Included

Coeliac Screening

Coeliac disease and gluten intolerance are under-diagnosed, often misunderstood and sometimes misdiagnosed conditions. Gluten intolerance can present a number of symptoms, ranging from bloating to digestive problems such as gas.

A simple blood test may provide important answers to whether you have gluten intolerance. A negative test result will confirm that you do not have any problems digesting gluten, yet positive results will indicate that your body does not properly process gluten. In this case, fortunately, there are plenty of substitutes for gluten products and lots of recipes for healthy meals.

Tests include:

• Endomysial IgA
• Gliadin deamidated lgG
• Total IgA
• Tissue Transglutaminase (IgA)

Total price including blood taking, laboratory test, written report and telephone follow up with one of our doctors: £285.85 / Reference GSA + PHLEBFU

Lactose Intolerance

If you sometimes feel bad after eating certain dairy products, you may be lactose intolerant. Lactose intolerance is a condition in which your body does not have enough of the enzyme lactase. Lactase is needed to digest lactose, a sugar found in milk and other dairy products.

In most cases, you can live well with lactose intolerance. It’s a common condition that disrupts the digestion of milk and milk products, like cheese and yogurt. The emptying of the stomach is slowed down, you might feel full longer after eating. nausea, bloating, gas and diarrhoea may also occur. lactose intolerance can be treated by avoiding foods with lactose in it or taking pills that breaks down the lactose enzyme in your body.

We offer a genetic that looks for the presence of the genes that produce the lactase enzyme, if the genes are not present, then that makes it highly likely that you are genetically pre-disposed to lactose intolerance.

Test includes:

• Lactose Tolerance Gene

Total price includes pre-blood test appointment,  blood taking, laboratory test, written report and telephone follow up with one of our doctors: £281.30 / Reference LACG + PHLEBFU + PBAPPT

Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Tests advised following consultation – please book or call 01494 623 053.
