Vitamins Series: Part #6 – Vitamins E and K

by | May 12, 2022 | Blog, Resources

Vitamins E and K are two essential vitamins that you can’t make in your body, so you have to get them from your diet. They’re both fat-soluble, meaning they dissolve in fats and oils, so they can be stored in your body for later use.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps protect cells from damage. Vitamin K is a clotting agent that helps blood clot normally.

But what happens if you don’t get enough of these essential vitamins?

Well, if you don’t get enough vitamin E, your immune system can become weakened while your body’s ability to fight infections could also suffer. If you don’t get enough vitamin K, your blood may not clot properly, which could lead to dangerous bleeding problems.

How do you make sure you’re getting enough vitamin E and K?

You can find them in many foods like nuts, seeds, leafy greens and whole grains. You might want to consider taking a supplement if your diet isn’t providing enough of these two vital nutrients—but talk with your doctor first!
